Heavens full of Grandma's ...

You know how true this is?

Your Grandma loved you very much and you loved Grandma too.

She set a good example by taking you to Sunday School...

To teach all the little things that little girls should do.

Like saying Grace and singing Jesus loves me too.

Grandma your time has come to be in Heaven up above...

But before you go,

I want you to know how much I love you and care.

And that your the " Greatest Grandma of Grandma's everywhere!"

A Grandma's love is very special and it's warm to the touch...

Her hugs and kisses tell you she loves you very much.

Her smile is your smile that's bright and beautiful.

And Grandma is someone you can tell your secrets too.

She holds your memories close to her heart...

But knows there will be a day you both will part.

Grandma's love will always stay no matter how far she goes away.

Even from heaven she looks down each day...

Because Grandma is your angel surrounding

you with her love and hugs and keeping you safe.

Love Hurts

The time we spent together we fell in love...

and I became yours and you became mine.

You said you would love me and never let me go...

that you would hold me and hug me even when we got old.

Years have gone by from one to twenty five...

my love for you is still there and your still by my side.

We've had our arguements and wev'e had our doubts...

but, some way some how we've always worked them out.

There came a time I thought my world was shattered...

and that my love for you just didn't matter.

The fear you showed when you thought I would go...

made me realize you still had love in those eyes.

You then took me into your arms

and

you whispered that you loved me...

you whispered that you cared...

and promised me you'll always be there.

What I See

I look at myself in the mirror, and what do I see...

A person whose lost their self asteem.

I feel alone all by myself...

It's so hard to talk to someone else.

My feelings are hurt and my trust is gone, everything is

different and it's all so wrong.

I want to feel special...

I want to be strong...

I want to be known for the person I was not so long ago.

I want to be happy...

I want to laugh and smile...

I want to be wanted and loved for a long... long... While.

I Care

I met this precious lady as I walked down the hall..

She held out her hand and said " Can you help me at all?"

Her hair was snow white and her eyes of blue...

And her expression showed she didn't have a clue.

I was brought here today and I'm so confused...

And just don't understand or know what to do.

They said I couldn't live alone anymore...

That I needed to live in a nursing home.

So here I am scared and lonely and feeling like nobody cares.

I took her by the hand as I gave her a warm smile...

And said to her " I'll stay with you awhile ".

Lets wipe the tears from your eyes...

And know that God cares and so do I.

A Mother's Love

This poem is for you Mama...

Happy Mother's Day

It all began the day I was born...

The touch from my Mother was very warm.

She held me close and gave me love...

With lots of kisses and the most precious hugs.

And now as I grew from an infant to a little girl...

You became excited at the things I learned to do.

Soon it came time for me to start school...

and then you knew my growing up days were fixing to begin.

My school days are now over...

And I'm a lot older with children of my own,

following in my Mother's footsteps giving love, kisses

and hugs of my very own.

You'll always be my " Mother " and my " Best Friend "...

and we'll always share our special moments from beginning to the end!

Memories of Seasons

Springtime is full of joy, the beginning of new life.

With flowers and butterflies and lots of sunlight.

The sounds of birds singing as they're perched in the trees...

Welcoming the soft warm March breeze.

The April Showers... The May flowers

in their pastel colors.

Then the summer nights with the stars so bright.

Now...

Fall is here with the changing of the leaves from green to amber, orange and brown...

As they fall off the trees landing on the ground.

Winter is pure with its white blanket of snow

as it sparles, twinkles and glows

in the cold night air.

Spring... Summer... Fall and Winter...

Are special seasons to remember.

They're part of Nature... They're part of Life...

That God created just right.

The "Unclaimed Soldier"

In Memory of My Brother...

Sgt. Ricky Lee Carter

September 12,1954-September 12,2003

Our brother was a soldier that defended this country...

He held his head high when he stood at attention.

He took an oath to serve and to protect...

Never once chose to neglect.

As he proudly wore his uniform up to

the day of discharge...

We knew our brother served this country with pride.

And...

Now the day has come to lay this soldier to rest, and because of a situation he was not honored like the rest.

His body was placed in a box that resembled a casket...

Our brother couldn't be viewed because of his status,

Old Glory draped over his body...

The taps were played from a recording.

As we shedded our tears...

Not one time were we allowed to go near.

No gun salute...

No color guard escorted this soldier to the place where he was to be laid to rest.

His Sisters ... His Brothers and Sweet daughter Jess...

Knew he was no " Unclaimed Soldier"...

But one of the best.

The angel that watched over you knew the time has come

for you to meet the Lord and to be where you belong.

The suffering and pain is now over...

and you've done your part here upon this earth.

You've earned your wings to heaven...

where you can sing his praises of Amazing Grace

with your beautiful smile upon your face.

So mama be my angel and watch down on me ...

keep me in your arms and hold me tight through the rest

of my days and nights.

Good night mama, Sweet dreams tonight while the

angels watch over you and hold you tight.

You're in God's hands, so sweet dreams mama

because He's aware of your pain and suffering...

and I know that he cares.

He's always there and hears each and everyone of your prayers.

So if God takes you home I know you'll

be safe there.

Mama's Snow White Dove

On The Wings

I'll never forget the day I released a snow white dove.

In honor of my mama's special love...

The dove flew high into the sky, as I stood

and watched it in silence.

It's wings of snow white so beautiful and bright

as it soared around in the sky...

The feeling that came over me is really hard to describe

I just knew it was mama's dove, and what it was set out to do.

It took her up to heaven way above the clouds...

Where she will make it her home now.

And when ever I want to send mama my love...

All I have to do is send it on the...

Mama you'll always be remembered for your

beautiful smile...

That shines on your face for miles and miles.

The special moments we've shared together

will stay with me forever and ever.

You've always had a special way of showing

that you cared...

Not just to me, but people everywhere.

You taught me what was right, you taught me what was

wrong...

You showed me how to have feelings,to love and get along.

I'm gonna miss your words " I love you very much"...

My Poerty






I learned about poetry in High School. My English teacher said I was pretty good at expressing my feelings through writing poetry. I have written several poems over the last few years about family members and my own feelngs. The poems on my family members have been away of saying goodbye, but you won't be forgotten. When I think about them I will go back and read the special poem I have written in their honor or memory. I am very proud to say that most of my poetry has been published in the "Library of Congress" and some poetry books. I have also received 3 Editor's Choice Awards from poetry.com for my writing. I would like to share what I have written and hope it will be inspiring to others.
